WANDA

Leeuwarden, Holland

CE certainly is an international multi-cultural magazine with readers from all walks of life and countries sending us emails, pictures and letters. So far we have featuredImagine Jenny’s surprise when she received an email from Wanda, who although now living in Holland, was born in Poland. Wanda mentioned how much she just loved CE and her dream was to be featured
machine artists from around the globe from England,

in it – well, we like making dreams come

Germany, USA, Japan and Australia and now Holland.

true and so do our readers!

Wanda has lived in Holland now for

nearly 20 years with her three children Izabella, Piotr and Wiebe who are her whole world, along with her love of sewing and embroidery.

From an early age Wanda loved sewing and needlework, helping her grandmother, who was a seamstress, choose fabrics and sew clothing for her friends. As many of us will relate, Wanda learnt to sew on a vintage Singer treadle machine, making such things as a bag to take her books to school, also learning techniques such as appliqué and hand and machine embroidery. From then on, sewing and being creative became Wanda’s passion.

Life is always full of surprises, as is frequently the case and as Wanda grew up, her life both personally and professionally moved on in a new direction. She emigrated to the Netherlands, had children, and her profession led her into the field of education and administration law. During all those years, however, Wanda never lost sight of her love of sewing and embroidery, always having her sewing machine by her side.
