EMBROIDERY 5 Use the design software and the embroidery CDs to edit/combine the following designs:
Butterflies1 and Butterflies2. Refer to page 64 for Jenny’s Embroidered Découpage technique to burn around the six butterflies.
− from Colors of Autumn select design D153-39 and overlay it with butterfly design 220310 (in a position of your choice) from Special Effects Butterflies and then change the thread colour chart to:

Save the design as Side A.
− select butterfly design 220315 and use the Edit screen to reduce the size to a width of 98mm and height of 70mm; return to the Design screen to change the colour to 2237 Espresso. Copy and Paste this butterfly design to the same screen (the position is not important) and Mirror image the design and change the thread colour to 2251 Brown.
Save the combination design as Butterflies2.
10 Use the photo as a guide to position and then stitch the free-standing butterflies over side embroideries on the bottle bag using Invisa Sheer thread in the needle and a free motion straight stitch, using the freehand foot.
6 Use the software and transfer device to transfer all the new designs to the machine.
7 Use the 240mm x 155mm hoop, embroidery foot, fine pre-wound bobbins, rayon- 40 embroidery threads in the Microtex- 80 needle.
HANDLES 11 Follow the pattern directions to make and attach the handles to the front and back of the bag so the embroidery is centred between them.
− select design D153-39 and overlay it with butterfly design 220303, then change the thread colour chart to:

8 Use Hoop Magic hooped, to embroider designs Side A and Side B centred on the two corresponding fabric pattern pieces G18 and design F&B centred on the front and back of fabric pattern piece G17. Clip jump threads and remove all excess stabiliser from the back of the embroidery and press it using a hot steam iron.
12 Use the open-toe foot to sew decorative stitch E: 7 down the centre of the handles and M:1 length 1 and width 4. 5 down each side of E: 7 (omitting the handle grips).
9 Hoop a layer of nylon organza and Dissolve Magic to embroider design
CONSTRUCTION 13 Make up the bottle bag following the pattern directions, adding the lining to the inside of the bag. You can also omit the bottle divide and make up a decorative functional tote bag.
TABLECLOTH
− from Colors of Autumn select design D153-39 and use the Edit screen to delete all but the right side of the embroidery (design width should be 55.8mm). Return to the Design screen, centre the design, overlay butterfly design 220310 and save the design as F&B.
− select butterfly design 220311 and combine two designs in one screen. Colour sort the combined butterflies and change the thread colour chart to:
