EMBROIDERY
19 Jenny’s Embroidered Découpage technique is an amazing way to stitch out and use embroidery designs and guarantees perfect placement each time and is the technique used to make Jenny’s Heritage quilt published in a book by the same name.
20 Layer and hoop Dissolve Magic and nylon organza or tulle in the embroidery hoop. Embroider the design inserting the appliqué fabric inserts in the normal fashion if required and then remove the embroidered organza/tulle and soluble stabiliser from the hoop. Use the Magic Heat-Cutting Tool to burn (heat-cut) the excess fabric and stabiliser from the outside edge of the embroidery designs. Soak designs in warm water with a little detergent in it swishing regularly and then rinse in cold water to totally remove the soluble stabiliser and lay the embroidery designs flat to dry. Press from the back with a hot steam iron over a towel.
21 These embroidery designs can now be applied to any item by using Invisa sheer thread and a freehand straight stitch around the outside edge of the embroidery. Using Jenny’s Embroidered Découpage
technique, perfect embroidery placement is guaranteed every time!
